The work was planned and implemented by the famous Belgian architecture firm OS-KAR, based on a very distinctive design.
To give the building an artistic touch, the artist Nick Ervinck joined the project, covering the steel staircase in inlaid corten steel.

The dilapidated existing school building on the Anderlecht campus was in urgent need of renovation, retaining only its original façade. After the rest of the building was demolished, a larger building was built on the same site.
The limited surface area and very complex programme led to a very compact five-storey building with an emphasis on both height and depth.
The school gym, for example, on the second basement level, is easily accessible from external ramps and terraces, which let natural light into this underground facility.
The large terrace at the entrance to the De Groene School was covered with Porcelaingres ceramics in size 60x60 cm, 2 cm thick, from the Urban series in the colour Grey. The interaction of colour between the ceramics and the building façade is practically perfect.
